ترجمات -سكاي نيوز عربية – أبوظبي – كانت المدينة المصرية هيراكلون ميناء تجاريا يعج بالحركة قبل آلاف السنين، لكنها الآن أصبحت بقايا غارقة تستقر على عمق 45 مترا تحت سطح البحر الأبيض المتوسط.

وسلط تقرير لموقع “سيانس أليرت” العلمي، الخميس، الضوء على المدينة التي اكتشفت قبل نحو عقدين من الزمن، لكنها لا تكف عن البوح بأسرارها.

وقبل أسابيع، أعلن باحثون مصريون وأوروبيون اكتشاف مجموعة من الكنوز في المدينة الواقع تحت خليج أبي قير بالإسكندرية.

واعتبر الاكتشاف الذي توصل إليه الباحثون الأهم منذ اكتشاف المدينة قبل نحو 20 عاما.

وفي الاكتشاف الأخير، وجد الباحثون المصريون والأوروبيون بقايا كبيرة من معبد تحت البحر، إضافة إلى سفن محملة بالكنوز مثل العملات المعدنية والجواهر.

ويعتقد علماء الآثار بقيادة فرانك غوديو، الذي كان مسؤولاً أيضاً عن أول عملية استكشاف تحت الماء في المدينة، أنهم عثروا على أعمدة حجرية من المعبد الرئيسي للمدينة المعروف بـ”(آمون جرب)”، وكذلك بقايا معبد يوناني أصغر.

عملات ذهبية وحلي جرى اكتشافها تحت مياه الإسكندرية

وتظهر الكنوز للمدينة الغارقة، أنها لا تزال تكشف عن أسرارها رغم اكتشافها قبل سنوات، ورغم تراكم الرواسب والطين فوقها مع مرور الزمن.

وتحققت هذه الاكتشافات بفضل مجموعة من أدوات المسح المتطورة، التي يمكنها تمييز الأشياء الموجودة في قاع البحر، رغم الرواسب، وذلك بالإضافة إلى البيانات الجيوفيزيائية التي جمعت عبر الأقمار الصناعية، كما تم قياس الأعماق بالصدى وجهاز الرنين المغناطسي.

وتسلح الخبراء بهذه المعلومات، وغاصوا تحت الماء لإلقاء نظرة فاحصة عن قرب، حيث اكتشفوا كنوز المدينة، مثل بقايا المعبد والمجوهرات.

ووجد علماء الآثار عملات معدنية تعود إلى الحقبة البيزنطية، مما يعني أن مدينة هيراكلون ربما كانت مأهولة من القرن الرابع قبل الميلاد على الأقل.

ويُعتقد أن هيراكليون قد بنيت خلال القرن الثامن قبل الميلاد على ضفاف نهر النيل، وهي تحمل اسما لأن البطل هرقل نفسه زارها ذات مرة، كما تقول الأسطورة.

ويقول الموقع المتخصص في البحث عن هذه المدينة على الإنترنت إن الموجودات واللقى التي عثر عليها في المدينة تؤكد جمالها وروعة معابدها الكبرى.

لكن كيف انتهى المطاف بهذه المدينة إلى أعماق البحر المتوسط لغز لا يزال يحير العلماء، وهناك نظريات تفسر الأمر مثل ارتفاع منسوب البحر أو نتيجة نشاط زلزالي.
