ربما أذكى كلمة قيلت خلال هذا النقاش جاءت من رئيس المجلس المركزي لليهود في ألمانيا. وقال جوزيف شوستر: “آخر شيء نحتاجه هو الكراهية ضد الأقليات لمجرد أن مؤسسة ما تأخذ الطعام بعين الاعتبار”. لكنه ترك الكلام مفتوحاً حول ما إن كان يقصد بكلامه شبكة الإنترنيت أو حتى وسائل الإعلام، وربما السياسيين الألمان أيضاً. نعم، يؤكد شوستر: “إن حظر لحم الخنزير مبالغ فيه”، وبهذا قد تناول النقطة الأهم في النقاش. لكنه ينتقد بالأخص “الجدل المحموم” داعياً إلى المزيد من التعقل والهدوء”.
