يبدأ مدير وكالة الاستخبارات المركزية الأميركية “سي آي أي”، ويليام بيرنز، الثلاثاء، 10 أغسطس (آب)، زيارة تستمر ثلاثة أيام تشمل إسرائيل والضفة الغربية، وفق ما أفاد مسؤولان إسرائيلي وفلسطيني، وسط تصاعد التوترات بين تل أبيب وطهران.
وذكر موقع “واللا نيوز” الإخباري الإسرائيلي، أن بيرنز سيلتقي رئيس الوزراء، نفتالي بينت، وكذلك الرئيس الجديد لجهاز الاستخبارات الخارجية الإسرائيلي (الموساد)، للبحث في برنامج إيران النووي وأنشطة إيران في المنطقة.
ورداً على سؤال لوكالة الصحافة الفرنسية، أكد متحدث باسم رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي زيارة بيرنز لإسرائيل، من دون التعليق على الموضوعات التي ستطرح للنقاش خلال هذا اللقاء.
وفي رام الله، أكد مسؤول فلسطيني أن مدير وكالة الاستخبارات المركزية الأميركية سيلتقي الرئيس الفلسطيني محمود عباس.
وقال الموقع الإخباري نفسه، إن بيرنز سيلتقي أيضاً في رام الله رئيس المخابرات الفلسطينية، ماجد فرج.
أقدم الدبلوماسيين الأميركيين
يعد بيرنز من أقدم الدبلوماسيين الأميركيين، وعمل لأكثر من 33 عاماً في السلك الدبلوماسي، كما عمل في عهد الرئيس باراك أوباما، ووقف وراء تقارب مع إيران، وقاد مفاوضات سرية بين عامي 2011 و2012 في سلطنة عمان على الرغم من عدم وجود علاقات دبلوماسية بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران.
وأتاحت هذه المفاوضات بعد ذلك فتح محادثات رسمية بين طهران والقوى العظمى، وهي الولايات المتحدة والصين وروسيا وألمانيا وفرنسا والمملكة المتحدة، ما أدى إلى اتفاق 2015 في شأن البرنامج النووي الإيراني الذي عارضته إسرائيل.
“ميرسر ستريت”
وفي 29 يوليو (تموز)، تعرضت ناقلة النفط “ميرسر ستريت” التي تديرها شركة يملكها رجل أعمال إسرائيلي، لهجوم بطائرة مسيرة، بحسب ما أفاد الجيش الأميركي الذي ينشر سفناً في المنطقة، وتسبب الحادث بمقتل شخصين، بريطاني وروماني.
أصابع الاتهام إلى إيران
وسرعان ما وجهت الولايات المتحدة والمملكة المتحدة وإسرائيل أصابع الاتهام إلى إيران التي نفت أن تكون ضالعة في الهجوم، وسط توترات متكررة وهجمات وعمليات تخريب متتالية في مياه المنطقة.
وقال بيان صادر عن القيادة المركزية في الجيش الأميركي، مساء الجمعة، إن طائرتين مسيّرتين مفخختين هاجمتا الناقلة وأخطأتا الهدف، قبل أن تهاجم ثالثة “محملة بمتفجرات ذات استخدام عسكري” السفينة “ميرسر ستريت” اليابانية التي تشغلها شركة “زودياك ماريتايم” المملوكة لرجل الأعمال الإسرائيلي إيال عوفر.
“على أساس الأدلة”
وخلص متخصصون أميركيون “على أساس الأدلة” إلى أن هذه الطائرة المسيّرة “صُنعت في إيران”، معتقدين أيضاً أن “المسافة بين الساحل الإيراني وموقع الهجوم” تتناسب مع نطاق الهجوم السابق.
