أعلنت اليوم الجمعة عمدة مونتريال فاليري بلانت حالة الطوارئ المحلية لمواجهة جائحة فيروس كورونا وذلك بناءً على طلب من وكالة الصحة العامة في كيبيك.
ويسمح هذا الإجراء للمدينة باتخاذ القرارات بشكل أسرع لا سيما لتلبية احتياجات الأشخاص الأكثر ضعفاً كالمشردين. وأوضحت عمدة مونتريال أنّ ” المدينة ليست في حجر صحي.” لأن إعلان العزل من إختصاص حكومة المقاطعة.
وستقوم مونتريال بإنشاء خمسة مراكز استقبال مؤقتة للمشردين في غضون أيام قليلة. وسوف تستقبل هذه المواقع حوالي 1.000 شخص يوميًا.
وبلغ عدد المصابين بمرض كوفيد-19 في مونتريال 971 حالة مؤكّدة. وبلغ العدد في كندا 4.633 حالة مؤكّدة و 53 وفاة.
