تعتزم الحكومة الكندية استقبال 1,2 مليون مهاجر جديد بحلول عام 2023، حسب ما أعلنه اليوم الجمعة وزير الهجرة الكندي، ماركو منديتشينو.
وكشفت الحكومة تحديثًا حول وضع الهجرة في كندا هذا العام وخطة توضّح عدد المهاجرين الجدد الذين سيتمّ استقبالهم.
وتهدف كندا إلى جلب .401.000 مهاجر جديد في عام 2021 و411.00 في عام 2022 و 421.000 في عام 2023.
وقال الوزير منديتشينو عند كشفه لمخطط الهجرة على مدى الثلاث سنوات المقبلة إنّ “الهجرة أمر حيوي لمستقبل كندا”.
ولسدّ العجز في عدد المهاجرين في 2020 و الذي تسبّبت فيه أزمة كوفيد 19 رفعت الحكومة الكندية من أهدافها للوصول إلى العدد المُعلن عنه.
ووصف ماركو منديتشينو في مؤتمر صحفي عقده في أوتاوا هذه الإجراءات بـ”القوية” ، مضيفًا أن الحكومة الفيدرالية ستخصص الموارد المالية لتحقيق ذلك.
وقال إن الجائحة أظهرت مدى حاجة البلاد للمهاجرين. وذكر أنّه في الوقت الحالي ، في قطاع الصحة وحده ، فإنّ ربع العمال من أصول مهاجرة.

وبالمقارنة ، كانت كندا تهدف إلى استقبال حوالي 341.000 مهاجر جديد خلال العام الحالي، بما يتماشى مع مستويات الهجرة في السنوات الأخيرة.
وتم الإعلان عن هذا الهدف في اليوم السابق لدخول كندا في عزل تدريجي عن العالم الخارجي للحد من انتشار فيروس كورونا المستجدّ.
وتحتاج كندا إلى عمال مهرة ، وتلتزم حكومة ترودو بحلول عام 2022 بقبول ما يصل إلى “500 لاجئ ماهر” عبر مشروع خاص باللاجئين المهرة (The Economic Mobility Pathways Project).
وفي إطار برنامج الدخول السريع (Entry Express) ، ستمنح مصالح الهجرة نقاطًا إضافية لملفات المرشحين الفرنكوفونيين من أجل تعزيز نمو المجتمعات الفرنكوفونية في مقاطعات أخرى غير كيبيك.
وفي كيبيك، أعلنت وزيرة الهجرة نادين جيرويوم الخميس أنه تم تخفيض أهداف الهجرة للعام الحالي. لكن، مثل الحكومة الفيدرالية ، ستحاول حكومة فرانسوا لوغو تعويض النقص في السنوات القادمة.
وللإشارة، فقد انخفضت الهجرة في كندا في الأشهر الثمانية الأولى من عام 2020، بأكثر من 40٪ مقارنة بأرقام العام الماضي.
