أثارت الشاعرة جينا لين ألبرتا الجدل في فريدريكتون عاصمة مقاطعة نيو برنزويك بعد أن ألقت قصيدة تناولت فيها مسألة لإجهاض.
وطرحت القصيدة الجدل حول دور الشاعرة التي فازت بلقب شاعرة مدينة فريدريكتون للعامين 2019 و 2020.
وألقت الشاعرة قصيدة للفنّانة التشكيليّة كونيار كلايتون المقيمة في أوتاوا، تتحدّث فيها هذه الأخيرة عن تجربتها مع الإجهاض.
ورأى البعض من أعضاء المجلس في القصيدة بعدا سياسيّا، وتقّرر إحالة المسألة على لجنة الحوكمة لمناقشتها.
وقال عضو المجلس البلدي دان كينان إنّه يشعر بالقلق لأنّهم “يسيّسون أشعارنا”.

وأضاف بأنّه يؤيّد تماما حريّة التعبير، وحقّ الناس في أن يقولوا ما يريدون قوله، ولكنّه لم يكن هذا هو المقصود “من النموذج الذي طوّرناه” كما قال.
وتقول الشاعرة جينا لين ألبرت إنّها مقتنعة بضرورة تقاسم القصيدة التي تتناول الحصول على الإجهاض، خصوصا أنّ العيادة 554 التي تدعم الصحة والرفاه والحقوق المتعلّقة بالجنس والإنجاب على وشك إغلاق أبوابها كما قالت ألبرت.
ولم تحظ دعوة عضو المجلس البلدي دان كينان إلى إعادة النظر في طريقة تفكير الشاعرة بتأييد العديد من الأعضاء.
وسبق أن أثارت الشاعرة جينا لين ألبرت الجدل في حزيران يونيو الماضي، بعد أن ألقت قصيدة للشاعر من فريدريكتون ثاندايفي ماكارثي، يتناول فيها العنف الذي تستخدمه الشرطة بحقّ السود.

ويقول عضو المجلس البلدي جون ماكديرميد إنّ الأشعار انعكاس للمجتمع، ومن المهمّ البحث في المواضيع التي تطرحها.
وسبق أن صدرت تعليقات كما قال، بشأن قصائد تدور حول شعار “حياة السود مهمّة” Black Lives Matter وتجربة السود في مجتمع فريدريكتون، والمسألة ليست سياسيّة بل هي عمليّة تفكير وانعكاس للمجتمع.
ورأت عضو المجلس البلدي كيت روجرز أنّ دور الشاعر الحائز على جائزة شاعر المدينة يقضي بتقديم التعليقات الثقافيّة.
وأضافت بأنّ الفنون توفّر للشخص فرصة الاستفزاز والتعبير عن أفكار ووجهات نظر، تماما كما حدث بعد تلاوة القصيدة حول الإجهاض.
من جهة أخرى، أعربت الشاعرة جينا لين ألبرت عن شعورها بالصدمة حيال ردود الفعل على القصيدة.
“إنّه من الصعب أن تكوني امرأة تتقاسم قصيدة حول حقوق الإنجاب، التي هي بالغة الأهميّة بالنسبة لي والكثيرات من اللواتي لديهنّ رحم في هذه المدينة، وهذه المقاطعة”: شاعرة فريدريكتون جينا لي ألبرت.
ومن الصعب حسب رأيها، أن يقال إنّ المسألة سياسيّة كما يحدث غالبا لدى تناول هذه المواضيع.
ويشار إلى أنّ مسألة الإجهاض تثير الكثير من الجدل، وتختلف الآراء منها بين التأييد والمعارضة، وتأييد حقّ الجنين في الحياة.
وكانت نيوبرنزويك الأولى التي بدأت عام 2017 بتوفير حبّة الإجهاض مجانا، وتراجع على أثر ذلك عددعمليّات الإجهاض الطبيّة في المقاطعة.
