كتبت منى “أربعون سنة من النحت ” صدر في 2007، ولها كتابان شعريان “رؤيا أولى في 1970″ و”محيط الحلم” في 1993.

تعتبر منى السعودي من أكبر النحاتين في العالم العربي. ولدت في عمان عام 1945وكونت منذ طفولتها علاقة مع الحجارة والصخور والمنحوتات حيث كانت تقطن بجوار سبيل الحوريات ومجموعة من الآثار الرومانية بعمان وكان لهذه العلاقة تأثيرا هاما في موهبتها في النحت. تعتبر منى رائدة في النحت التجريدي تطوّع المادة وتصقلها لتصوغ فلسفتها، وتستقي من الشعر والخط العربي محفزات تتكامل من خلالها منحوتاتها برسوماتها.

بدأت بنحت أعمالها الأولى منذ بلوغها سن العشرين ودرست في مدرسة الفنون الجميلة بباريس خلال سنوات 1960. قدمت أعمالها في معارض عديدة في العالم العربي وأوروبا والولايات المتحدة وآسيا. قدمت أوّل معرض لرسوماتها عام 1963 في مقهى الصحافة في لبنان. ثم التحقت بالمدرسة العليا للفنون الجميلة في باريس عام 1964 حيث درست النحت بالحجر. قدمت أوّل منحوتاتها في عام 1965 وكان موضوعها الأمومة. تشتهر الفنانة اليوم بمنحوتاتها الهائلة التي تستقصي بحساسية شعرية بالغة مواضيع الإبداع، والأرض، والأم وتطور الكائنات.

أقامت منى السعودي معارض كثيرة لأعمالها العديدة في النحت والرسم في العالم العربي وأوروبا والولايات المتحدة وآسيا. ومن أعمالها النحتية “قمر مكتمل” من حجر الترافيرتين، وكذلك “أمزجة الأرض” و”شروق الشمس” و”كسوف القمر”، و”المتشرّد”، و”صبار”، من حجر اليشم الأردني الأخضر، و”ماء الحياة” من العقيق اليماني، “هندسة الروح” التي تقف أمام معهد العالم العربي في باريس، و”المرأة النهر” من الغرانيت الأخضر الزمردي. تنتصب أعمالها في عدد كبير من متاحف العالم مثل المتحف الوطني للفنون الجميلة في الأردن، والمتحف البريطاني، ومعهد الفن في شيكاغو ومعهد الفن في ديترويت.

كتبت منى أيضًا كتاب بعنوان “أربعون سنة من النحت ” أصدر في 2007، ولها كتابان شعريان “رؤيا أولى في 1970″ و”محيط الحلم” في 1993. ولها عدة مجموعات من رسومات مستلهمة من وحي الشعر أنجزت كتحية لعدة شعراء مثل الشاعر الفلسطيني محمود درويش، والشاعر السوري أدونيس، والشاعر الفرنسي سان جون بيرس وكذلك إلى الشاعر العربي الجاهلي امرو القيس.

وتقول منى حول تجربتها “لا أصنف نفسي كنحاتة أو رسامة وخطاطة، بل أرى نفسي فيها كلها. أعمالي هي أنا، تحمل بصمتي وأفكاري. منذ كنت صغيرة أرسم، ألوّن، أشكل، أنحت، وقد سبرت خلال نصف قرن من احتراف الفن أغواره وطرائقه المختلفة. عشقت في النحت صعوباته وتحدياته وكيفية تطويع المادة الصخرية الصعبة، وبخاصة الرخام الملوّن لصوغ فلسفتي وأفكاري عن الحياة والأمومة والأرض والوجود. تأثرت كثيراً بالأرض الحبلى بالأحجار، فاستلهمت منها حتى صار النحت بالنسبة لي فعل إيمان بما أقوم به. ربما يتطلع الآخر إلى الجهود البدنية التي يفرضها النحت وقسوة أدواته، المطرقة والإزميل والمعدات الكهربائية، لكن بالنسبة لي الأمر مختلف. المطرقة هي مطرقة الروح، والإزميل هو إزميل الإبداع والتجلي، وبواسطتهما أستمر وأُحلّق”.
