والخير اندبندنت عربية \ كاتيا الطويل @katiatawil “المتلعثم” رواية الكاتب السويسري تشارلز ليفنسكي (Charles Lewinsky) المولود في زيورخ عام 1946، صدرت بالعربية حديثاً بترجمة نيفين صبح، ( دار العربي – القاهرة 2021). ووافق العنوان بالعربية العنوان بالألمانية نظراً لكون البطل والراوي والشخصية الرئيسة في النص هم واحد: شاب “متلعثم” يهرب من عائلته ومن هويته ومن ماضيه ومن الظلم اللاحق به إلى الكتابة والقراءة. وهو لمن المنطقي أن يجد شاب متلعثم ملاذه وخلاصه في الكتابة: المكان الوحيد الذي يمكنه أن يتفوق فيه على الآخرين. لكن هذا المتلعثم لا يكتفي بالتفوق على الآخرين، بل نراه يتلاعب بهم ويحركهم ويغير في مساراتهم الحياتية ما يودي به في نهاية المطاف إلى السجن. لا يكتفي هذا المتلعثم بالتفوق على الآخرين، بل يحاسبهم ويعاقبهم ويغويهم بالكلمات، فيكتب متحدثاً عن أفعاله السابقة: “بإمكاني أن أخبرك عن الأشخاص الذين دمرتهم تماماً بمنتهى الاتقان، لدرجة أنهم فضلوا الموت… سأخبرك عن الأشخاص الذين كنت السبب في سعادتهم، الذين انتزعت لهم أموالهم وكانوا ممتنين لي حتى الموت” (ص: 29). يتعرف القارئ في ما يربو على أربعمئة صفحة إلى “المتلعثم”: شاب أربعيني مسجون (ومدة حكمه سنتان ونيف)، يُعين أمين مكتبة السجن بعد طول إلحاح، ويمضي مدة سجنه في كتابة الرسائل والخطابات واليوميات والقصص القصيرة. يتعرف القارئ في نص يطعمه تشارلز ليفنسكي بأسئلة فلسفية وجودية ثاقبة بسلاسة وجزالة سردية، إلى فصول من حياة الراوي يوهانس هوزاي يكتبها بيده وهو في السجن وتجتمع كلها لتنسج خيوط حياة هذا الشاب الذي يطرق موضوعات فلسفية بارزة عبر أخباره وقصصه، هو الذي يستغل موهبته في الكتابة للتلاعب بالمحيطين به. وبين مقولات الفيلسوف الألماني أرتور شوبنهاور (1788- 1860) من ناحية، وآيات من الإنجيل المقدس من ناحية ثانية، مفاهيم وأسئلة وقضايا كثيرة مطروحة: ما هي الأخلاق؟ ما هو العدل؟ هل يجب الانتقام؟ أين حدود الخير وأين يبدأ الشر؟ ما الذي يجعل عملاً ما إثماً وما الذي يجعله صواباً؟ ما هو الندم؟ هل يمحو الندم الخطيئة؟ والشعور بالذنب، أين مكانه من هذه المعادلات كلها؟ الكلمة سلاح دفاع وعقاب يختار بطل ليفنسكي أن يتسلح بالكلمة المكتوبة هو الذي خذلته الكلمات الشفهية ووضعته في موقع ضعف وهزيمة أمام الآخرين، فيقول: “أحب الكلمات. أحب القراءة وأحب الكتابة. أنا لا أتلعثم عندما أكتب” (ص: 10). فتتحول هذه الكلمات المكتوبة، الكلمات التي لا يتلعثم بها البطل الراوي والتي تشبه كلمات أي إنسان آخر إلى سلاح: سلاح للدفاع عن الذات ولتحريرها ولإثباتها؛ إنما أيضاً لمحاسبة الآخر وعقابه. الرواية السويسرية في الترجمة العربية (دار العربي) وفي مقابلة أجرتها معه المترجمة نيفين صبح، يقول الكاتب تشارلز ليفنسكي عن شخصية المتلعثم: “بالنسبة لي، الشيء المثير للاهتمام هو أن المتلعثم يخلق نفسه من خلال اختراع القصص، إنه كذلك، يمكن القول إنه يبتكر نفسه. إنها مجرد طريقة للدفاع عن نفسه، إنه يدافع عن نفسه ضد العالم من خلال خلق قصص عن نفسه”. يتسلح هذا الراوي المتلعثم بالكتابة وبالكلمات ليحقق ما يراه عدلاً ولينقذ نفسه من ظلم الآخرين ويتفوق عليهم، هو الذي يكتب عن نفسه: “لكن الكتابة كانت دائماً مهنتي” (ص: 233). فيروح يكتب الرسائل ويحبك المكائد ويتلاعب بالناس بذكاء وحنكة وقدرة هائلة على خلق القصص. وبينما يبرر هذه التصرفات بأنه مضطر للدفاع عن ذاته والانتقام من ظلم الآخرين وسخريتهم منه ومن تلعثمه، لا يخفى عليه أن في تصرفاته شيئاً من الشر والخطيئة، فيقول: “تصرف غير أخلاقي، أليس كذلك؟ نعم، ولكن ما البديل؟… لا أيها القس، إنني أفضل ما جاء في العهد القديم؛ العين بالعين، والسن بالسن، اليد باليد، والقدم بالقدم، وطبعاً الخبث بالخبث” (ص: 54). يوظف المتلعثم الكلمة المكتوبة ليحقق ما يراه عدلاً، حتى إنه يكتب في موضع من الكلام: “العدالة، يا له من موضوع غبي!” (ص: 211). القانون نفسه يصبح موضوعاً قابلاً للجدل والنسبة حيث يكتب: “توصلتُ إلى استنتاج مفاده أنه لا توجد عدالة حقيقية في مجتمعنا، لذلك لا يوجد سبب لطاعة القانون” (ص: 300). وبين رغبة في الانتقام لتحقيق العدالة ورغبة في الدفاع عن النفس إزاء المجتمع القاسي الذي لا يرحم المتلعثم، سؤال يُطرح: أين الحدود بين الخير والشر؟ إلى أي مدى يصبح الانتقام حلاً مقبولاً؟ وماذا عن الإنجيل الذي يقول أحبوا أعداءكم، ومن ضربك على خدك الأيمن أدر له الأيسر؟ آيات مقدسة كثيرة لا تكاد تخلو منها صفحة، يحورها راوٍ متمكن يطوع اللغة والكلمات، ليصبح القارئ ضحية جديدة من ضحاياه. رواية الثنائيات المتضادة تقوم رواية شارلز ليفنسكي على أحداث حياة شاب أربعيني متلعثم يختار أن يوظف الكتابة ليعوض عن عدم قدرته على الكلام بسلاسة وسهولة. يسخّر هذا المتلعثم الخجول الكتابة بطريقة خبيثة ماكرة متلاعباً بالمحيطين به ومسبباً لهم متاعب جمة. فتتحول اللغة التي هي عقبة في الكلام إلى سلاح حاد بين يديه يعاقب فيه الذين يسخرون منه ويدافع به عن نفسه من الأخطار المحدقة به. ويتابع القارئ أحداث هذه الرواية ليعرف ما الذي أوصل هذا المتلعثم المتحدر من عائلة مسيحية مؤمنة متزمتة تحفظ الإنجيل وتصلي وتتبع أوامر القس الأكبر إلى زنزانة صغيرة في سجن خطر مليء بتجار مخدرات وقتلة. تتأرجح الرواية أولاً بين قطبين متضادين: فلسفة شوبنهاور التشاؤمية العبثية العدمية وآيات من الإنجيل المقدس الذي يدعو إلى المحبة والمغفرة والرأفة. ثنائية مضادة أخرى تطرح نفسها وهي ثنائية العدل والانتقام. هل يدخل الانتقام داخل حيز إحقاق العدل؟ ومتى لم يستطع الإنسان الضعيف المظلوم أن يدافع عن نفسه هل يمكنه أن يعمد إلى الحنكة والخبث ليدافع عن نفسه وينتقم لها؟ كيف نحكم على متلعثم حاك مكائد لينقذ نفسه من سخرية الآخرين وآل به المآل إلى السجن؟ وهذا المتلعثم الذي يكتب رسائل إلى قس السجن ليخبره فيها عن حقيقة وصوله إلى السجن هل هو يكتبها إلى القس فعلاً أم تراه يكتبها إلينا نحن القراء الذين نشكل المجتمع الإنساني؟ ثنائية ثالثة هي ثنائية الأخلاق والشر، متى يُعد التصرف أخلاقياً؟ وهل الأخلاق تتوافق مع القانون أم أنها قد تتعارض معه؟ وعندما تتعارض معه، أيهما ينتصر؟ هل الخير والشر يحددهما القانون أم الدين أم الأخلاق؟ “المتلعثم” رواية مسبوكة بحنكة وغزارة وعمق ومعرفة بالدين المسيحي والفلسفة الغربية كليهما، رواية مهولة بأسلوبها الساخر المباشر القاسي في بعض الأحيان والذي يطرح موضوعات مثيرة للجدل بأقل قدر ممكن من التزمت والخيلاء والثقل الأدبي. فالراوي يغير أسلوبه من فصل إلى آخر، يغير المرسل إليه، يغير نوع الفن الكتابي المستعمل، يغير التقنية الأدبية نفسها: فبين
