سكاي نيوز عربية / وكالات – أبوظبي / أعلنت المتحدثة باسم منظمة الصحة العالمية، فضيلة الشايب، الأربعاء، أن مصدر فيروس كورونا المفترض هو الخفافيش، ومنها انتقل إلى الإنسان عبر وسيط.
وقالت المتحدثة: “تشير جميع الأدلة المتوفرة، إلى أن أصل هذا الفيروس حيواني. ولم ينتج ولم يتم التلاعب به في المختبرات. وأن الخفافيش هي موطنه البيئي”.
وأضافت “لكن من الضروري معرفة كيف انتقل الفيروس. لأنه من الواضح جدا وجود وسيط نقله من الخفافيش إلى البشر“.
وتعمل منظمة الصحة العالمية بالتعاون مع البلدان الأخرى من أجل تحديد طبيعة فيروس كورونا المستجد “كوفيد-19” ومن أجل ذلك شكلت عدة مجموعات للخبراء، وفقا للشايب.
وذكرت المتحدثة باسم منظمة الصحة العالمية: “لا نعلم حاليا مصدر الفيروس. لذلك علينا جميعا التركيز على الحقائق وليس على النظريات. إن منظمة الصحة العالمية منظمة علمية ونحن نعتقد أن أصل الفيروس ومصدره حيواني”.
واشارت المتحدثة إلى أن 70 بالمئة من الفيروسات الجديدة مصدرها حيواني، من بينها فيروسات إيبولا والطاعون وفيروس كورونا.
