إذا كان هناك إبداع ما يذكّر به المناخ العام الذي يطغى على فن الرسام النرويجي إدوارد مونخ الذي اشتهر في طول العالم وعرضه بلوحته “الصرخة”، التي يرى كثر أنها افتتحت القرن العشرين بقدر من الكآبة، لا يمكن أي يضاهيها فيه أي عمل فني آخر. فإن كاتب هذه السطور يعترف بأن هذا الإبداع الآخر ليس سوى أغاني فريد الأطرش. وقبل أن يغضب أحد أو يُدهش، سأوضح، ففريد الأطرش الذي أكنّ له إعجاباً كبيراً ويطربني صوته وغناؤه بشكل يتزايد حيناً بعد حين، جعل من الكآبة والشجن والإخفاق في الغرام وكآبة العيش شعاراً له ولموسيقاه وحتى موضوعاً غالباً للأفلام التي مثلها. ولكنه مرة على الأقل، قرر كما يبدو أن يحتفل في أغنية له بالحياة فكانت أغنيته “الحياة حلوة” الرائعة. بيد أن الفرحة بما في الحياة من حلاوة لم تكتمل، إذ نجده سرعان ما يضع شرطاً لذلك حيث يضيف، “بس نفهمها”. وهو شرط مستحيل بالتأكيد. ما ضيّع على المستمعين المحبين تلك الحلاوة الموعودة.
رقص وحياة ولكن
في هذا المعنى يطل علينا مونخ، الذي لم يخل أي من أعماله من حزن ومرض وموت وقلق، الذي ربما لو أمعن المرء في تصفح لوحاته جميعا سيتبيّن له أن “الصرخة” تكاد تكون لعبة أطفال في هذا السياق.
والحقيقة أن المجال لا يتسّع هنا لاستعراض البراهين على ما نقول، ومن هنا قد يكون منطقياً أن نكتفي بالحديث عن تلك اللوحة التي رسمها لتعرض في الأيام الأولى من القرن العشرين جاعلاً لها عنواناً مغرياً إنما مستغرَبا من جانبه، “رقصة الحياة” وهل ثمة ما يمكنه أن يكون أكثر حبوراً من حياة تمضي على إيقاع الرقص؟
أجل إنه التفاؤل المطلق من رسام يبدو وكأنه يتغلب ذات لحظة على ما عُهد عنه من موت ومرض وكآبة ليحاول أن يرسم رقصة الحياة. بيد أن المشكلة تبدأ من اللحظة التي يتأمل فيها المرء اللوحة في تفاصيلها، أو على إيقاع مكبر، كالذي يمكن استخدامه لتأمل لوحات مشابهة للرسام بيتر بروغل الكبير، نكتشف فيها بفضله، وأيضا خلف قناع الرقص والحبور، كل تلك الطاقة السلبية التي يبثّها الفنان في لوحته، وبأكثر مما يفعل فريد الأطرش حين يشترط علينا “أن نفهمها”.

وطبعا لسنا نتحدث هنا عن القيمة الفنية المؤكدة للوحة مونخ، التي نعرف أن كثرا من النقاد والمؤرخين يفضلونها على “الصرخة”، ذات الشعبية المطلقة، إلى درجة أن المخرج السينمائي الأنغلوساكسوني بيتر واتكنز، الذي اشتهر بأفلامه المشاكسة وثوريته المعلنة منذ وقوفه ضد حرب فيتنام، إلى اهتمامه السينمائي الفذ بـ”كومونة باريس”، حين أراد أن يحقق فيلماً عن مونخ جعل عنوانه، بالتحديد، “رقصة الحياة” لا “الصرخة”. رقص وحياة إذاً يجتمعان في عمل واحد. وهو أمر مغرٍ لكنه خادع.
أفراد أشبه بالجزر المعزولة
لا تصور اللوحة جماعة من الناس ترقص في احتفال جماعي، بل مجموعة من أفراد يبدون وكأنهم جزر منعزلة عن بعضها البعض. بالكاد يحس الواحد منهم بوجود الآخرين، إضافة إلى أن الألوان الشاحبة بالكاد تترك لنا المجال لإدراك أن ثمة موسيقى في الجو. ثم لدينا ذلك القمر الذي يتصدر خلفية اللوحة ويبدو في انعكاسه المائي، وكأنه شبح مخيّم على المكان يهم بالانقضاض على أولئك الأفراد الذي بالكاد يدرك الواحد منهم ما الذي يفعله هنا.
ثم ما بال المرأتين الواقفتين دون حراك إلى يمين مقدمة اللوحة ويسارها. أي أفكار تجول في رأسيهما تعبّر عنها نظرات باردة إلى اللا مكان؟ ولئن أصر الرسام على أن يجعل واحدة من شخصيات اللوحة تنظر ناحية المُشاهد بشيء من البلاهة، المذكّرة ببلاهة شخصيات لوحات البلجيكي مجايل مونخ، جيمس إنسور المرعبة، فمن الواضح أننا لسنا هنا أمام شخصية سوية. فهل علينا أن نستنتج هنا أن الرسام، في هذه اللوحة يعود إلى كآبته المعتادة وتعاطيه مع شخصيات تعيش حاضنة موتاً ومرضاً أكيدين؟
هو استنتاج يعززه على أي حال كون هذه اللوحة تنتمي بالأساس إلى مجموعة لوحات حققها مونخ في فترة متقاربة عند منعطف القرنين، زار خلالها ألمانيا واطّلع على أعمال تيار تعبيري كان سائداً فيها، وسيجعل منه دليل فنّه لزمن مقبل، ناهيك أن المرحلة كانت بالنسبة إلى الرسام افتراق عن حبيبته وفقدانه أحباء له حصدهم الموت وما إلى ذلك.
هدايا الحياة السامّة
أما بالنسبة إلى التيار الذي وجد مونخ نفسه ينتمي إليه تلقائياً، فهو تيار يتلحف بالغرابة والقلق والتلوين المباغت والحضور الطاغي لشخصيات فاقدة التواصل فيما بينها. شخصيات تعيش إرهاصات موت ما، قبل أن يحلّ عليها ذلك الموت. والحال أن الموت والألم لم يكونا شيئاً جديداً أو طارئاً في حياة إدوارد مونخ (1863 – 1944)، الذي كان في ذلك الحين قد تجاوز الثلاثين من عمره، ذلك أن سيرة حياته تقدمه لنا منذ الطفولة ابناً لأسرة أحاق بها الموت باكراً، إذ اختطف الأم والشقيقة الحبيبة، وأحال قلب الأب قاسياً كالجماد. وهذا ما جعل إدوارد يعيش الموت والقسوة منذ طفولته، وجعله لاحقاً، حين اختار الرسم طريقاً لحياته وللتعبير عن ذاته، يملأ لوحاته بالمرضى والمحتضرين وبالألوان الكئيبة والوجوه المكفهرّة، إن لم تكن وجوه أموات يسيرون لا يلوون على شيء، كما هي الحال في تلك المجموعة من الأشخاص الذين يسيرون ليلاً في لوحة شهيرة أخرى له هي “ذات مساء في جادة كارل – يوهان”.
وقد قالها مونخ بنفسه، “إن المرض والجنون والموت كانت هي الملائكة السود التي أحاطت بي منذ كنت في المهد”. ومن الواضح أنه عبر في لوحاته، وخلال الجزء الأكبر من حياته، عن ضروب الذهان والرهاب التي اشتغلت عليه دائماً. ولأنه عرف كيف ينقل هذا كله إلى لوحات لا يشعر المرء وهو ينظر إليها إلا بأقصى درجات القلق والرعب، كان من الطبيعي أن ينصرف الجمهور عن تلك اللوحات إلى درجة أن إدارة معرض الخريف في برلين اضطرت إلى سحب لوحات له عرضت في ذلك المعرض، تحت ضغط تظاهرات صاخبة عام 1892.
ومهما يكن من أمر، على رغم أن إدوارد مونخ رسم كثيراً من اللوحات، وظل على نشاطه الفني طوال ما يقرب من ستة عقود، تبقى لوحته “الصرخة” هي الأشهر. وربما هي أيضاً الأكثر تعبيراً عن المشاعر التي كانت تتآكل الإنسان المعاصر، وهو يستعد لولوج القرن العشرين. وعلى هذا تحوّلت تلك اللوحة التي كان يفترض بها أن تكون الأكثر ذاتية بين أعمال مونخ كلها، إلى عمل يعبّر عن زمن وعن علاقة الإنسان بذلك الزمن في شكل عام.
ومن المعروف أن إدوارد مونخ رسم أكثر من خمسين تنويعة على لوحة “الصرخة” خلال عامي 1892 و1893، ومع هذا فإن اللوحة الأشهر، أو التنويعة الأشهر، تظل تلك الأساسية المعلقة في “المتحف الوطني” في أوسلو، عاصمة النرويج. و”الصرخة” التي سيعمل عليها المحللون النفسيون تحليلاً وتفسيراً طوال القرن العشرين، يكمن عنصرها الأساس في أنها صوّرت معاناة الإنسان وألمه وسط الطبيعة التي كان يفترض بها أصلاً أن تكون له عزاء. كما فعل وعلى طرقهم الخاصة كثر من الرسامين الآخرين الذين ماثلوا مونخ في التعبير عن تراجيديا العصر من أمثال جيمس إنسور.
