Woman fined for refusing to wear a mask

A woman has been handed a $2,422 ticket under the Health Protection Act.

Halifax Regional Police were called to Citadel High School Tuesday morning because they say she had been barred from entering the building under the Protection of Property Act.

When officers arrived, they discovered she had refused to wear a mask.

In addition to the fine for violating COVID-19 public health directives, she was ticketed for entering a premise where prohibited.
