Woman charged with robbery and thefts

A woman has been charged in a robbery and several thefts from Halifax stores.

Halifax Regional Police say on December 23, a woman walking on Bilby Street was grabbed around the neck from behind, then had her wallet stolen.

A suspect was arrested Sunday at a Halifax residence.

Kiara Marie Organ, 18, is scheduled to appear in court today on charges of robbery and assault by choking.

She’s also being charged with five counts of theft, five counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and one count of breach of probation.

Those charges are in relation to five thefts from Halifax stores that happened between November 23 and January 15.
