A vehicle hit some parked cars in Middle Sackville before it got stuck in a construction zone, RCMP say

RCMP say a witness was assaulted while trying to restrain a suspect Sunday night.
At around 9:30 p.m., Mounties were told a vehicle hit some parked cars on Commodore Avenue in Middle Sackville before it got stuck in a construction zone. It was suspected the driver could be impaired.
When officers arrived, they say the driver tried to run away, but the witness ran after him and was able to restrain him.
“While attempting to break free, the man assaulted the witness,” police allege in a news release.
RCMP tell CityNews Halifax the witness suffered bodily harm.
The suspect was arrested and 30-year-old Clement Anthony Reid has been charged with refusal to comply with a breath demand, assault causing bodily harm and resisting a peace officer
He is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today.
Anyone who spots a possible impaired driver is asked to call 911.
