There is some messy weather in the forecast for Saturday as wind and rainfall warnings are in effect for parts of HRM.

Environment Canada issued a wind warning Friday afternoon, saying strong winds are expected in Halifax County and eastern Nova Scotia.

The national forecaster says wind gusts of up to 90 km/h are possible along the Atlantic coast from early Saturday morning until early Saturday evening.

Meanwhile a rainfall warning has been issued for Halifax County east of Porters Lake with 50 to 70 mm forecasted.

Environment Canada says precipitation levels could possibly be higher over the Cape Breton Highlands, adding localized flooding in low-lying areas is also a possibility.
