The Halifax Mooseheads suffered their first loss of the QMJHL playoffs as the Moncton Wildcats topped the Herd 4-1 in game one of their round two series.
Moncton drew first blood with a Vincent Labelle goal late in the first period
The Wildcats continued to dominate the Herd in the second period as Natan Grenier, Yoan Loshing and Maxim Barbashev all found the back of Halifax’s net to make it 4-0 after 40 minutes.
Brady Schultz put Halifax on the board late in the final period to prevent the shutout, but it wasn’t enough as the Wildcats handed the Mooseheads their first loss of the playoffs.
Game two goes down Saturday night as the Mooseheads will look to rebound of Friday’s loss.
