Weekend shooting in Dartmouth ruled as homicide

Halifax Regional Police say a suspicious death that took place in Dartmouth over the weekend has been ruled a homicide.

On Sunday at roughly 2:50 a.m., officers responded to reports of gunshots in the area of Lahey Road and Clarence Street where police found two people suffering from gunshot wounds.

Police said a 30-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman were both transported to hospital by EHS where the man died of his injuries.

The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service has ruled his death a homicide.

The investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone with information to contact HRP or Crime Stoppers.
