The one-mile race closes the Macdonald Bridge to traffic, giving runners and walkers of all ages and mobility the chance to take in panoramic views during the Aug. 6 event. HHB spokesman Steven Proctor tells CityNews, this marks the first year the run has a $10 registration fee for participants. “The entire fee goes directly to the Canadian Mental Health Association,” says Proctor, adding registration is open until Aug. 3. ” It has been free in the past but we decided this year to put the fee in because it is a great cause to support.” Proctor adds for people not interested in running, Bridgewalk takes place Aug. 6 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. as well. The family-friendly event lets people wander the span of the Macdonald Bridge and enjoy treats, live music and entertainment, safety demonstrations and more. The Bridgewalk is a free event open to everyone. Baby strollers, wheelchairs and dogs are also welcome. Cyclists are asked to remain in the bike lane unless walking their bikes. Water and snacks will be provided, however Proctor says there will be no BBQ, cake or high-touch activities as in previous years. 0 comment 0 FacebookTwitterPinterestEmail admin previous post Halifax residents being encouraged to mark third annual Emancipation Day next post North Preston man wanted on province-wide arrest warrant You may also like Wind and rainfall warnings issued for parts of... 2024 New poll shows Houston’s PCs maintaining big lead... 22 نوفمبر، 2024 Cape Breton Police issue emergency alert as they... 22 نوفمبر، 2024 Safety board calls for changes two years after... 22 نوفمبر، 2024 Fuel prices rise across Nova Scotia 22 نوفمبر، 2024 Halifax International Security Forum begins 16th year amid... 22 نوفمبر، 2024
