Police have arrested 27-year-old Tayshawn Maloney and a second man as a result of the incident. At approximately 1 a.m. on Friday, Colchester County District RCMP and Truro Police Service responded to a motor vehicle crash on Hwy. 102 at Exit 12 near Brookfield. A news release from the RCMP states officers learned that two vehicles, a pick-up truck and an SUV, had crashed off the exit and three males fled the scene on foot into a nearby wooded area. The same vehicles had fled from a traffic safety check point on McLures Mill Road earlier the same morning. Truro Police Service officers arrested Maloney after a short foot pursuit. Maloney was wanted on a province-wide arrest for several offences in Halifax and Millbrook including aggravated assault and attempted murder. Police say the youth was armed and wearing body armour at the time of his arrest. The third suspect is still at large. Truro Police seized three firearms, two sets of body armour, ammunition, and the two vehicles. Police believe one of the vehicles to be stolen.
