Cain was pronounced dead at the scene after gunshots were reported in the area of Highfield Park Drive and True North Crescent on May 29 around 12:00 p.m. The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service conducted an autopsy and confirmed the death to be a homicide. The investigation is ongoing but police say they do not believe the incident to be random.
