Two women face drug charges after search in New Minas

Two people in New Minas are facing drug charges after a home was searched last month.

On Fri. Jan. 26, RCMP officers executed a search warrant at the home on Highland Ct. in New Minas. Police said it was in relation to an investigation that began earlier this year.

The RCMP said two people were arrested at the scene and officers allegedly seized cocaine, mushrooms, scales, cellphones and ammunition.

April Schofield, 34, of New Minas and Amanda Cleveland, 41, from Kentville have been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.

The Mounties said both women have been released on conditions and will be in court later in March.
