Two teens among those facing laundry list of charges for Dartmouth shooting

Three men are facing multiple charges in connection to a shooting in Dartmouth on Wednesday morning.

At roughly 5:40 a.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire in the area of Booth Street where they found a home and a vehicle that had been struck.

There were no reported injuries.

Police said they later found the suspect vehicle near Bras Dor Lane in Dartmouth and arrested four people at a home. One person was released without charges.

According to Halifax Regional Police, during the search of the home and the vehicle, they seized an automatic rifle, a shotgun, two handguns, ammunition, cocaine and roughly $3,000 in cash.

Nakell Louis Grandy, 20, Joshua Mitchell Fairbairn, 19, and Lennard Antonio Melville, 19, were all scheduled to appear in Dartmouth provincial court on Thursday to face a slew of charges including discharging a firearm into or at a place in a reckless manner, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, among many others.

Police said Grandy is also facing eight counts of possessing a firearm or ammunition contrary to a court order and two counts of breaching a probation order.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact HRP or Crime Stoppers.
