The first was pulled over at around 9:30 a.m. Halifax Regional Police say an officer spotted a speeder going 108 km/h in a 50 km/h zone of Highway 102 near the exit for Joseph Howe Drive. A 24-year-old woman was handed a ticket. Then a 36-year-old woman was stopped on Highway 111 near Exit 6 in Dartmouth at around 11:10 a.m. Police say that vehicle was going 133 km/h in an 80 km/h zone. A stunting charge is automatic for anyone driving more than 50 km/h over the speed limit. It comes with a fine of $2,422.50 and six points are assigned to the driver’s record. In addition, both women have been suspended from driving for a week and the vehicles have been impounded.
