Two men charged in nine July break and enters

Two men are facing 49 charges after a Halifax Regional Police (HRP) investigation into nine different break-ins targeting apartment building laundry machine cash boxes.

HRP reported that Micah Frank Knowlton, 40, and Joshua Andrew Orde, 35, were arrested without incident on Thursday by the department’s Quick Response Unit.

Knowlton is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court today to face the following charges:

• Break and enter (eight counts)
• Mischief (eight counts)
• Possession of housebreaking tools (three counts)

Orde is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court today to face the following charges:

• Break and enter (10 counts)
• Mischief (10 counts)
• Failure to comply with a probation order (seven counts)
• Possession of housebreaking tools (seven counts)
