Halifax Regional Police have two men in custody following a jewelry store robbery Wednesday afternoon.
They say at around 2 p.m., two men smashed a display case in the Mic Mac Mall business and grabbed jewelry before leaving the area on bicycles.
Officers were able to arrest one suspect on Prince Albert Road.
Police say the other tried to get away by going into Lake Banook, but he didn’t get far and is also now in custody.
However, officers are still on scene and are asking the public to avoid the area.
They add there’s no threat to public safety, but they need time to conduct their investigation.
