At roughly 8:40 a.m., officers responded to a report that three large dogs were attacking a woman at a home in the 0 to 100 block of Fredrick Street. According to HRP, when police entered and attempted to save the woman, the dogs began attacking the officer. As a result, the officer shot the dogs and they died at the scene. Police said the woman was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. In an email to 95.7 NewsRadio, HRP Cst. Paul DesRochers says the dogs were “known” to the woman who was attacked and that she called police herself.
