Thousands impacted by power outage in Dartmouth area

A large power outage impacted thousands of Nova Scotia Power customers in Dartmouth on Monday.

The outage was reported shortly before 1 p.m. as a result of a vehicle accident. According to Nova Scotia Power’s outage map, over 15,000 customers are in the dark in areas ranging from downtown Dartmouth to Eastern Passage.

Power was restored to the area shortly after 3 p.m.

In the meantime, NSCC said in a post on social media that its Ivany Campus, including the Aviation Institute, closed on Monday due to the outage.
