Davelle Rodney Vance Desmond died in hospital on Aug. 6 after what police called a “disturbance” on the boardwalk just before 10 p.m. The medical examiner has confirmed Desmond’s death was a homicide. Halifax police say the suspect turned himself in on Wednesday, and a manslaughter charge has been laid against the 17-year-old.
