The Halifax Regional Municipality says the top speed will be lowered to 40 km/h on a section of residential streets bound by Herring Cove Road, Drysdale Road and Williams Lake Road. This will impact St Michaels Avenue, Lois Lane, Abrams Way, Hartlen Avenue, Pine Grove Avenue, Inspector Court, Theakston Avenue, Keyworth Lane, Danforth Road, Martello Way, Emerald Crescent, Drysdale Road, River Road, Aldergrove Drive and Levis Street. In a news release, HRM says this is part of an ongoing initiative to improve road safety. Speed limits on public roadways are legislated by the province’s Motor Vehicle Act. “The province allows municipalities to request posted speed limits below 50 km/h if accompanied by necessary documentation including current operating speeds and roadway characteristics,” HRM says. “The speed limit reduction in these areas is being implemented following provincial approval based on available data and an assessment of roadway characteristics that meet their qualifications.” Crews will be putting up the new signs next week. 0 comment 0 FacebookTwitterPinterestEmail admin previous post Federal environment minister says Nova Scotia looking to ‘stall’ on carbon tax next post Neil Patrick Harris delivers in new comedy and Chris Hemsworth’s best performance: This week’s best and biggest on Netflix You may also like Premier Tim Houston reverses some budget cuts amid... 11 مارس، 2026 Budget cuts put seniors and vulnerable Nova Scotians... 11 مارس، 2026 Police charge pair linked to several robberies in... 11 مارس، 2026 Serial killer Allan Legere, New Brunswick’s ‘Monster of... 2026 Gas prices to change as energy board invokes... 10 مارس، 2026
