The Halifax Regional Municipality says the top speed will be 40 km/h in the residential streets bound by Glendale Drive and Cobequid Road. New signs will go up next week. “This initiative, which reflects Council’s focus on making communities safer by reducing speeding in residential neighbourhoods, is part of the municipality’s road safety actions to move toward zero fatalities and injuries for people using any mode of transportation,” said HRM in a news release. Speed limits on public roadways are legislated by the province’s Motor Vehicle Act. “The MVA allows for the municipality to request posted speed limits below 50 km/h if accompanied by necessary documentation including current operating speeds and roadway characteristics,” the municipality added. HRM staff continue to assess the limits in other neighbourhoods for potential future requests of speed reductions. 0 comment 0 FacebookTwitterPinterestEmail admin previous post Premier heading to U.S. for first international business trip next post Ex-Liberal cabinet minister to lead task force on Halifax affordable housing shortage You may also like جامعة غويلف: ارتفاع عدد الطلاب المصابين بإنفلونزا المعدة... 9 يناير، 2025 كنديون يبدون آراءهم في كلام ترامب عن ’’الولاية... 9 يناير، 2025 كندا تعدّ ردّاً على الرسوم الجمركية التي هدّدها... 9 يناير، 2025 مطالب بمزيد من التمويل للتعليم في شمال أونتاريو 9 يناير، 2025 Bible Hill suspicious death ruled homicide, says RCMP 9 يناير، 2025 Hot water overflow, not chemical leak, prompted emergency... 9 يناير، 2025 Pedestrian injuries: Advocate says Halifax goals for safety... 9 يناير، 2025 RCMP investigate Mahone Bay deaths as intimate partner... 9 يناير، 2025 Pictou County man wanted on province-wide warrant arrested 9 يناير، 2025 Nova Scotia sees 35 per cent drop in... 9 يناير، 2025 Leave a Comment Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment.
