Officers were called to the Dollarama on Dentith Road at around 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31. They were told two men threatened employees before taking two cash drawers. The men were seen running off in the direction of the No Frills where the pair, along with a third man, jumped into a parked vehicle near the grocery store. A woman and child were inside at the time and bystanders tried to help out. Police say two of the suspects got out of the vehicle and ran off but a third drove off with the woman and child. “The suspect stopped a short time later and allowed them to leave the vehicle,” HRP said in a news release. “The woman and child were not physically injured.” Early this morning, police arrested a suspect they believe was one of the two men who jumped out of the car. Paul Ningeogat, 21, is scheduled to appear in Halifax court today to face two counts of robbery. The suspected driver was arrested shortly after the incident. The 37-year-old man is scheduled to appear in court at a later date to face charges of robbery, dangerous operation of a conveyance, flight from a peace officer and possession of property obtained by crime.
