St. Margaret’s Bay Rd. was free and clear as of 3 p.m. Friday after an earlier structure fire.

Halifax Fire and Emergency’s Dave Meldrum said crews were called to a fire on Clearwater Dr. at about 1 p.m.

“On arrival firefighters encountered a detached garage which was heavily involved in fire,” said the deputy chief. “This fire was quickly controlled.”

Meldrum said one person at the scene had minor injuries but didn’t need to go to the hospital.

Roads in the area have since reopened, and Halifax Fire crews have cleared the scene.
