Rain clears out, sunshine returns across Nova Scotia

Thursday night’s rain will give way to more sunshine today across Nova Scotia.

But it looks like the province won’t see any significant rainfall to help with the battle against wildfires until Monday at the earliest.

Allister Aalders, 95.7 NewsRadio weather specialist, says the weekend forecast looks fair, with no rain expected until Sunday night and into Monday.

“These will be scattered once again with the risk of an embedded thunderstorm,” he said.

After those showers pass through on Monday, Aalders says the next chance of significant rain won’t come until mid to late next week.

As for temperatures, Aalders says this weekend will bring lower humidity levels than we’ve seen lately, along with cooler conditions.

“Temperatures are going to be trending near, then trending below average,” said Aalders. “Temperatures in the mid-20s this weekend in the Halifax area, feeling a few degrees warmer with the humidity.”

Aalders says temperatures to start the week will be below normal for this time of year.
