The department says its investigation “can only continue if more information comes to light.” Charges can be laid under the Forests Act up to two years from the date of an offence. The wildfire started on May 28, 2023, and destroyed 151 homes. “Charges are only laid if there is sufficient evidence to secure a conviction,” the release said. “There is a high bar for what can be used as evidence in court.” Anyone with new information is asked to call the department at 1-800-565-2224. 0 comment 0 FacebookTwitterPinterestEmail admin previous post N.S. swordfish harpoon fleet urged to bring tourists aboard to boost troubled sector next post Union agrees in principle to Postmedia’s $1-million bid for Atlantic newspaper chain You may also like CITYnews halifax: Maritimes sign energy understanding to consider... 24 يوليو، 2026 CITYnews halifax: Man charged for N.S. premier protest... 24 يوليو، 2026 CITYnews halifax: Police lay murder charge in North... 24 يوليو، 2026 CITYnews halifax: Halifax police investigating violent home invasion... 24 يوليو، 2026 CITYnews halifax: ‘Exceptional musician, a gentle soul’: jazz... 24 يوليو، 2026 راديو كندا الدولي: كارني..
