Another jump in the price for gasoline is on the horizon in Nova Scotia.

That is the prediction from the president of Canadians for Affordable Energy Dan McTeague, who is expecting to see the price for fuel rise by about three cents per litre at midnight.

McTeague says a big drop in availability in the global supply is responsible for a jump in the wholesale price.

“This is really a shortage of fuel globally,” McTeague said. “Oil’s moved up from $72 to $79 a barrel just in the last week alone.”

Across the border in New Brunswick, prices rose by 4.2 cents overnight to a new maximum price of $1.45.
