CANADAHALIFAX news Police offer tips for parents, drivers as students return to school this week by admin 3 سبتمبر، 2024 written by admin 3 سبتمبر، 2024 74 CITYnews halifax / By Chris Halef The long weekend is over and September is here, and that means it’s back to the classroom later this week for thousands of students in the Halifax area. That has Halifax Regional Police (HRP) offering up some tips to try to make sure it’s a safe start to the new school year. Classes are set to resume at Nova Scotia’s public schools this Thursday and with that comes a reminder from HRP to keep things safe. Police offered up some tips for parents and guardians including teaching children basic traffic safety rules. Those include never dart out between parked cars, crossing at marked crosswalks supervised by school crossing guards, and making sure children’s walk to school is a safe route. Some other tips include having children memorize contact numbers and their address, as well as teaching them to never accept rides or gifts from people they do not know. Meantime, police also offered tips for drivers including reducing speeds in school zones. Motorists are reminded that the speed limit in school zones is 30 km/h in areas where the approaching limit is 50 km/h, when children are present. 0 comment 0 FacebookTwitterPinterestEmail admin previous post توقيف حاكم مصرف لبنان السابق رياض سلامة في بيروت next post N.S.
