Police look for tips as 10th anniversary of murder approaches

Halifax Regional Police are hoping for new information as the 10th anniversary of Raymond Floyd Peters’ murder approaches.

Just before 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2013 police were called to a shooting in the area of Primrose Street and Pinecrest Drive in Dartmouth.

Officers found Peters in an apartment on Jackson Road.

He had been suffering from gunshot wounds and was rushed to hospital where he died the next day.

HRP say a suspect was seen running from the area.

He’s described as Black, in his 20s and around 5’8″ with a medium build. He had been wearing a blue hoodie and black pants.

Investigators believe there are people with information that could help them advance the case.

“It is never too late to do the right thing and the smallest piece of information may be just what is needed to progress the investigation,” HRP said in a news release.

The case is also part of the province’s Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program, which offers up to $150,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible.
