Police investigate weekend robbery at Bayer’s Lake McDonald’s

A suspect made off with some cash after a Saturday morning robbery at a Halifax McDonald’s, police say.

In a media release, Halifax Regional Police (HRP) note the robbery happened just before 6 a.m. Saturday at the McDonald’s on Chain Lake Drive.

“Staff reported that a man armed with a knife demanded money then jumped over the counter and opened the cash register,” police wrote.

According to HRP the suspect took off with cash, and there were no reported physical injuries.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 50s with a skinny build, wearing a black hoodie and dark pants.

Anyone with information or video from the area is asked to reach out to police or Crime Stoppers.
