They were told of an assault with a weapon involving a knife in the area of the shopping plaza on the south side of Lacewood Drive at Dunbrack. When officers arrived after 2:15 p.m., they found a man with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries, but the suspect was gone. The investigation is still in its early stages, but police are looking for a white man in his 30s who was wearing a brown jacket and blue T-shirt. Anyone with information or video from the area is asked to call 902-490-5020 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers. Halifax Regional Centre for Education says several schools in the area were placed on a hold and secure, however police have since said it’s safe for students to be dismissed.
