Police continue to look for man 25 years after his disappearance

Halifax Regional Police continue to ask for information in the disappearance of Daniel Baker, 25 years after he went missing.

On December 12, 1997 at around 11 p.m., Baker left a residence on Preston Street to walk north to a restaurant on Quinpool Road.

The then-40 year old hasn’t been heard from since, and it’s not known if he ever made it to his destination.

At the time he disappeared, he was described as 6’1″, around 155 pounds with short dark blonde hair, blue eyes and a fair complexion. He was last seen wearing a dark blue, red and white dress shirt, blue jeans and black suede jacket.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 902-490-5016, or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.

The case is also part of the province’s Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program, which offers up to $150,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible.
