It’s a snowy Friday in the Halifax area.

While there are no weather alerts in effect, CityNews weather specialist Denise Andreacchi said the HRM is likely to see 5-10 cm of snow through to Friday evening.

And that winter weather made it a snow day for Halifax-area students.

As of 7 a.m., the municipality said most surfaces were snow-covered, and operations were active in all areas.

Halifax Regional Police was asking people to drive carefully in the snow. HRP said drivers should slow down, and watch for signals and pedestrians.
