CITYnews halifax / By Dan Ahlstrand

If you park on the street in HRM, you will have to find alternative arrangements before you head to bed Sunday night.

The municipality has enacted its overnight winter parking ban for Zone 1 and Zone 2 from 1 a.m. until 6 a.m. Monday, January 8.  A zone map is available here.

According to the city all Vehicles must be parked off municipal streets during the hours noted above. Regardless of the status of an overnight winter parking ban, vehicles can be towed day or night at any time of year if they interfere with snow-clearing operations, as per Section 139 of the Nova Scotia Motor Vehicle Act.

HRM is also asking resident to make sure that any Planters, lawn decorations and any other portable objects near the sidewalk are removed, and any permanent structures or objects too big to move should be marked with a reflector to help their crews identify obstacles.
