By CityNews Halifax Staff

The province will be increasing its minimum wage this April.

In a release, government announced the province’s minimum wage will increase to $15.20 on April 1.

That’s a slight increase from the current minimum wage of $15 per hour, which was implemented back in October.

The increase follows recommendations put forth by the Minimum Wage Review Committee.

According to the province, starting this year, the rate is to be adjusted by the National Consumer Price Index plus one percentage point from the minimum wage rate set the previous April.
