Police are tight-lipped when it comes to the disappearance of 25-year-old Eli Wood, with few details given around the case.

Wood has been missing since Oct. 18, when a fire broke out in their unit of a multi-residential unit home in Kitchener, Ont., a community west of Toronto. The fire caused significant property damage, although no injuries were reported.

The blaze was quickly determined to be arson, and police confirmed that foul play was involved. However, the nature of the foul play has not been specified, as officers say they need to protect the integrity of the investigation.

Police also refused to say if this was a targeted incident.

Wood’s friends and former classmates at Mount Allison University (MtA) have started a GoFundMe campaign to cover the costs as Wood’s parents travel from their home in Nova Scotia to Kitchener to continue the search.

“While at MtA Eli always fought for and supported the whole community,” the fundraiser reads.

Wood is described as being 4’10”, between 85 and 95 pounds, with green eyes and partial white hair. They have a flower and a seahorse tattoo on their left forearm and a rainbow tattoo on their right upper arm.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact the WRPS’ Major Crime Unit at 519-570-9777, extension 8191.

Should you wish to remain anonymous contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or @Waterloocrime.
