Nova Scotia Health facilities will once again be accepting water samples for testing starting Wednesday.

The service had been placed on hold to divert resources to help with COVID-19 testing.

And as staff at the Environmental Services Laboratory work through an expected backlog of samples, it’s believed turnaround times could take at least 10 business days for the next few months.

Nova Scotia Health cautions, if there’s another surge in demand for COVID-19 testing, the service may once again need to be temporarily suspended.

Municipal, registered, and private water supply owners can also send samples to alternate testing facilities.
