The department of natural resources said around 20 of its firefighters are heading to the Northwest Territories on Thursday. The crew left Halifax Stanfield at about 7:15 a.m. They’re expected to help fight a fire near Yellowknife. The latest update from the Northwest Territories said there were 10 active fires impacting more than 17,000 hectares of land.
