CANADAHALIFAX news Not much expected from Henri as it passes south of Nova Scotia by admin 23 أغسطس، 2021 written by admin 23 أغسطس، 2021 110 After travelling over land and cooler waters, the system isn’t expected to have much strength left when it comes our way HALIFAXtoday \ Meghan Groff After making landfall in Rhode Island and bringing significant rainfall to the northeast U.S., the remnants of Henri are expected to brush past our province, passing just south of Nova Scotia Tuesday. However, after travelling over land and cooler waters, the system isn’t expected to have much strength left when it comes our way. “By the time it’s going to be passing south of Nova Scotia, it’s only going to only be seeing maximum sustained winds of about 45 km/h,” the Canadian Hurricane Centre’s Ian Hubbard told HalifaxToday.ca early Monday afternoon. “We’re not expecting any significant winds with this over Nova Scotia.” Hubbard said we will showers and heavy downpours, but not enough to trigger a rainfall warning. “Parts of southwestern and coastal Nova Scotia could see up to 35 mm locally in some of those heavier showers that may develop,” he explained. “Rain should start later this evening and the heavier showers, it’s kind of hard to pinpoint exactly when they’ll occur but they could be happening intermittently overnight.” There are also no storm surge warnings in effect along the coast. The 2021 hurricane season has produced eight named storms and the peak month of September is approaching. Hubbard said so far, we’ve been able to avoid major impacts, but it’s always a good idea to be prepared and closely watch the forecast this time of year. 4 comments 0 FacebookTwitterPinterestEmail admin previous post Montreal says it will end state of emergency in place since start of COVID pandemic next post N.S. requires people coming from N.B. show vaccine proof due to rising COVID cases You may also like راديو كندا الدولي: كندا مستعدة للمساعدة في تنفيذ... 18 يونيو، 2026 CITYnews halifax : Nova Scotia hacker convicted of... 18 يونيو، 2026 CITYnews halifax : Mayor of Lunenburg, N.S., banned... 18 يونيو، 2026 RCI : « Change ta vision » :... 18 يونيو، 2026 RCI: Trump et Pezeshkian ont signé le protocole... 18 يونيو، 2026 RCI : Un agent de la GRC arrêté... 18 يونيو، 2026 RCI: Trois leaders du milieu sportif autochtone sur... 18 يونيو، 2026 RCI : HEC Montréal, partenaire de l’autodétermination 18 يونيو، 2026 RCI : Les familles établies au Québec seront... 18 يونيو، 2026 RCI : Canada’s population drops in first quarter... 18 يونيو، 2026 Leave a Comment Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment.
