CITYnews halifax / By Mark Hodgins

A shipping container at the Port of Halifax apparently contained more than it might have seemed.

In a Tuesday news release, the Canada Border Services Agency(CBSA) said officers seized more than 1.5 tonnes of suspected cocaine in a container at the port on Mar. 6.

The seizure is valued at $194 million, according to the agency.

CBSA said the investigation started after a tip on Mar. 4 from U.S. Homeland Security about a container heading from California to Europe.

The RCMP is now continuing the investigation.
