Wetlands and water officer Mimi O’Handley tells CityNews the threat of damage to infrastructure on coastal Nova Scotia is severe. “The impacts of climate change are going to intensify and we’re going to see more of these extreme weather events in Nova Scotia that look like more rainfall and an increase in storms, both in frequency and severity,” she said. O’Handley says Nova Scotia is experiencing the highest level of relative sea level rise and says the threat of damage to communities is intense.
