CANADAHALIFAX news Mooseheads sweep Cape Breton from the QMJHL playoffs by admin 6 أبريل، 2023 written by admin 6 أبريل، 2023 141 CITYnews halifax\ By Dan Ahlstrand Jordan Dumais opened the scoring for the Mooseheads just past the 9-minute mark of the first period, Alexandre Doucet and Josh Lawrence with the helpers on the game-opening marker. Cape Breton’s Charles Boutin took advantage of open ice when both teams had a skater in the penalty box to tie things up at 1 with about 3 minutes left in the opening period. The Moose regained the lead early in the 2nd period when a shot from the slot from Marcus Vidicek beat Oliver Satny to make the score 2-1. Mathieu Cataford and Dylan Chisholm with assists on the goal. Cape Breton tied it up just past the halfway mark in the 2nd period with a shot from Olivier Houde off of a faceoff—Zach Biggar with the lone assist on the Eagles’ second goal. Alex Doucette scored his 5th of the playoffs, a shorthanded goal, after a feed from Josh Lawrence while the Mooseheads were killing off a 5-on-3 Eagles powerplay to regain the lead with about 5 minutes left in the 2nd period, and that would be enough as the game ended with a score of 3-2. The Moose will now wait for the results of the other Q-League playoff series to see who their opponent will be in the second round, which is scheduled to begin on April 14th.
