It could be a snowy commute on the way home for many in Nova Scotia on Wednesday afternoon.
Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) and the majority of Nova Scotia remain under a special weather statement that is warning of accumulations of about four to seven centimetres (cm) for most, with the higher amounts falling over higher elevations in the province.
In the statement, Environment Canada says the highest accumulations are expected to occur just inland from the Atlantic coast and over elevated terrain and that snow may mix with rain along the immediate coastlines around the province.
The national forecaster says motorists should be prepared for winter driving conditions, especially during the afternoon commute, as surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become snow-covered and slippery.
